Information we use
Local learning data
Progress, favorites, preferences, practice history, and reviews are stored in a local database on the device. For a Premium account, the app may upload a compressed private copy linked to the account identifier at most once per day.
Optional account
If you sign in through an external provider, the authentication service processes a user identifier, the method used, and—when shared—your name, email address, and profile picture. We use this information to authenticate you, display the account, and manage account-based features.
Technical data
Authentication, storage, distribution, and purchase providers may process technical information needed for their services, such as IP address, operating system, device model or identifiers, security logs, diagnostics, tokens, and interactions with purchases.
Stability diagnostics
In production versions, the app automatically sends technical crash and unexpected-error reports to a diagnostics provider. Reports may include stack traces, app version, device model, operating system, a pseudonymous installation identifier, and relevant technical state. We do not deliberately include names, email addresses, account identifiers, study content, or drawings. We use these reports only to detect, prioritize, and fix stability problems.
Purchases and subscriptions
The Service sells premium content and subscriptions through the Apple App Store or Google Play. The store processes the payment and financial details; Kanji Mind does not receive your full payment card number. We may receive the product purchased, transaction identifiers, purchase status, storefront country, renewal or expiry dates, and information required to verify and restore premium access.
The subscription management provider receives the account's pseudonymous identifier, product identifiers, and purchase information needed to verify access and unify it across platforms, as well as generate subscription metrics and reports. We do not send your email or name as customer attributes.
Subscriptions are managed and canceled through the relevant store. Deleting a Kanji Mind account does not automatically cancel an active subscription.
How we use information
- Provide, protect, and improve the Service.
- Authenticate accounts and complete deletion requests.
- Verify purchases, restore access, and apply benefits.
- Create the private daily backup requested by Premium users.
- Meet legal obligations and resolve technical issues.
We do not sell personal information or analyze general in-app behavior. Analysis is limited to the technical diagnostics described in this policy and metrics and reports related to purchases and subscriptions.
Third-party providers
We use or may use the following categories of providers only for the purposes described in this policy:
- Account authentication and abuse prevention.
- Private storage of requested backups.
- Subscription verification and Premium access restoration.
- Application crash and stability diagnostics.
- External sign-in and app-store distribution.
We require providers with access to data to protect it consistently with this policy. The app may link to services we do not operate. We recommend reviewing their policies; we do not control their content or practices.
Retention, deletion, and security
Local data remains on the device until you remove app data using operating-system controls or uninstall the app. The remote identity is retained while you keep the account. From Profile, you can sign out or delete it: the app verifies your identity, deletes the remote backup, records a request with the subscription provider, revokes sign-in provider access, and deletes the identity.
Premium backup uses one replaceable file per account. When the subscription expires, new uploads stop, but the latest file may be retained until it is replaced, removed through administrative maintenance, or the account is deleted. The associated deletion at the subscription provider is completed within 30 days.
Crash reports and their associated technical identifiers may be retained for 90 days before deletion begins from the diagnostics provider's live and backup systems.
The authenticated request temporarily stores the account identifier, associated email, sign-in provider, and request date. It is deleted when the process is complete and no later than the same 30-day period.
Account deletion does not erase local progress because it works without authentication and is not linked to the remote identifier. For requests outside the app, use the public account deletion resource or email from the address associated with the account at supportkanjimind@notro.cloud.
We apply reasonable safeguards, but no storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.
International transfers and business transactions
The Service is available internationally. Providers may process information outside your country, where data-protection rules may differ. We will apply safeguards required by applicable law.
If Kanji Mind is involved in a reorganization, acquisition, or asset sale, information associated with the Service may be transferred. We will provide notice of material changes and the policy that then applies.
Children
Kanji Mind is intended for people aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If local law requires a higher age or parental authorization, the user must meet that requirement before creating an account, making a purchase.
A parent or guardian who believes a child provided personal information improperly may contact supportkanjimind@notro.cloud to request deletion.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the Service, providers, or applicable obligations change. The current version will be published at this address with its update date. Material changes may also be announced in the app.
